Lillian father, Tom Cunnane hails from Kilgarrif, Knock, County Mayo, and her mother Mary (nee Carney), from Cloonbook, Bekan, County Mayo. Lillian lived in Ballyhaunis, County Mayo for five years before her family moved to Woodside, Queens. Lillian received her education at St. Teresa’s elementary school Woodside, St. Michael’s High School, and the Fashion Institute. Lillian worked as a Comptroller at Edith Macy Conference Center for 11 years, and in 1993, she ventured into the restaurant business and opened the Orangeburg Tavern with her partner Aiden Ryan. Lillian is a member of the Rockland County Irish American Culture Center since 1995, and in 2009, she joined the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 2. She held many division positions and was elected to the Rockland County Board where she has served as Treasurer and President. Lillian has been actively involved in the Rockland Parade Committee, the Feis Committee, the Emerald Ball Committee, and the Superstorm Sandy relief effort.
Lillian and her husband are the proud parent of three sons, Sean, Kieran, and Brendan and they have lived in Pearl River since 1995. They are also the proud grandparents of two boys, Patrick and Connor. Lillian is an active member of St. Aeden’s parish, Peral River where she volunteers in their food pantry.
