Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Aide – Orange County
Terry Byrne Meyer, of Middletown, N.Y. is proud to be the first woman elected as an Orange County Aide to the Grand Marshal of the New York City St. Patrick’s Parade.
Terry was born in Bessboro, Blackrock in County Cork. Her family emigrated to the New York-metro area when she as a small child and she was raised in Orange County.
After a career as a Human Resources professional, Terry and her husband, Ken Meyer, started their own business. Terry also consults on Human Resources issues. The Meyers have been married for 33 years and have two daughters, Megan Caitlin and Taylor Kathleen.
In addition to being an active parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Middletown, N.Y., Terry is also President of the Orange County Board of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and serves on the New York state LAOH. She was a founding officer of the Orange County LAOH Board and is currently a member of Division 6.
Terry has served her Orange County Community by starting a special fund to help LAOH women in need, and also has started annual fundraisers to benefit local families in need. She currently serves on the American Cancer Society‘s Board of Advisers and chairs the local American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life,” which raises funds to help treat people with cancer. Terry is also an active fund raiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which treats children who have cancer.
