Aide to The Grand Marshal

Sean Michael Walsh
Rockland County Aide to the Grand Marshal

Sean Michael Walsh was born and raised in Englewood, NJ, the youngest of seven children.  Sean’s grandparents emigrated from Cork, Leitrim and Donegal in the early 20th century.  His parents Ann (née Duddy) and Eugene Walsh were both proud Irish-Catholics and instilled in Sean and his siblings the need for not only a strong sense of pride in their Irish ancestry, but also a commitment to civic duty through charitable works.

Sean was educated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Tenafly, NJ; Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, NJ and received his Bachelor of Science from Manhattan College in 1991.  He married Kimberly (née Reilly), whom he met while attending Manhattan College, in July 1999 at St. Ann’s Church in Nyack.

Sean joined AOH Division 3 in 2009, and in his first few years, facilitated several events.  Each year he would donate a full Thanksgiving dinner for the annual food drop to families in need.  He would also donate large quantities of children’s coats for the annual Family Christmas Fund.  In 2012 Sean chaired Division 3’s annual memorial golf outing and led a committee that changed the golf outing into the annual event it is today.  Through the AOH, Sean got involved with the Lourdes Kids of Rockland at its inception, assisting with countless fundraising events, and in 2023 he traveled as a chaperone to Lourdes for the annual pilgrimage.  He describes the experience as both humbling and life-changing.  Sean has been a mainstay in the kitchen both at the AOH Div. 3 and the American Legion Post 329 where as a “son” he has volunteered and cooked a lot of food.

Sean’s volunteerism goes beyond the AOH as he is a former member of both the Orangetown Golf Committee and manager and assistant coach for Pearl River Little League. He is a current member of the Orangetown Housing Authority Board and most recently was appointed to the Montefiore Nyack Hospital Board of Trustees.

Professionally, Sean is an executive in the pharmaceutical supply chain and healthcare industry.  Sean and Kimberly have three children, Tyler James, Dylan Patrick and Liam Daniel who are students at Pearl River High School.  Sean has been a resident of Rockland for 25-years and spends his summers in Rhode Island with family and friends enjoying fishing and time together sitting around the campfire.
